About CFUW Hamilton

Established in 1925, CFUW Hamilton is a warm and welcoming women’s club committed to empowering women and promoting social justice in the Hamilton area. As a proud member of the CFUW, we are part of a national network of 90 clubs and over 6,700 members dedicated to achieving educational and economic equality for women and girls.

From September through June, we gather for monthly meetings featuring interesting guest speakers on a wide range of topics. Our meetings are open to the public, and guests are always welcome.

Members also enjoy connecting through our many interest groups, including book clubs, walking, art appreciation, creative writing, healthy living, bridge, and more.

Through the generosity and commitment of our members and supporters, CFUW Hamilton provides five annual scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 to assist women pursuing post-secondary education.

Our Scholarship Fund is supported through fundraising events, donations, bequests, and memorials.

OUR MISSION, VISION AND VALUES

Since its founding CFUW has been a non-partisan, self-funded organization working tirelessly to achieve educational and economic equality and social justice through continuous learning and empowerment. Our vision is a world where women and girls are educated and empowered to make transformative changes.

CFUW Hamilton is not a service delivery organization; instead, we focus on raising funds for scholarships and bursaries for women scholars. We offer five scholarships annually, ranging from $2,000 to $3,000, to support young women in their pursuit of post-secondary education. Our scholarships are sustained through fundraising events, donations, bequests, and memorials, with 100% of donations going directly to the scholarships.

All women who support the goals of CFUW are welcome to join our club. By becoming a member, you will help promote human rights, public education, lifelong learning, and peace at the local, provincial, and national levels. Through our affiliation with Graduate Women International (GWI), we are also part of a global network working to create positive change around the world.
