Our speaker this month was Elizabeth Clarke, the CEO of YWCA Kitchener-Waterloo, and a part-time Practicum Professor with Wilfrid Laurier University’s Master of Social Work program. Ms Clarke has over 25 years’ experience as a social worker and social work manager and administrator in the not-for-profit sector.
Her topic: Violence and Women with Addictions and Mental Illness.
Ms Clarke talked about the Global Pandemic of Violence Against Women and explained that it exist because gender bias is real and those who are most affected by the problem are the marginalized.
