Dialogue Session Documents

For your information and convenience we are sharing National’s response to questions posed at the recent Dialogue session.

February 19, 2021

First of all, thank you to everyone for their patience waiting for the results of the Dialogue sessions. When the team began to look at the 50 pages of questions in the chat, it was evident that there were many duplications and we thought it unlikely that anyone would want to read 50 pages of responses. We decided to analyze the questions and to group them into categories which has been a mammoth task. Today you will be able to read questions and answers in five categories: Fiduciary Duty (click here), Budget (click here), Voting (click here), Dual Members (click here), Per Capita Dues (click here.) We have removed all names and grouped similar questions together. Hopefully, you will be able to find the answer to your question and FAQs will follow next week on: Class of Members, Cost Benefit, Exchange Rates, Finance, Governance, GWI Membership, International Advocacy, Member Proposals, Reserve, Surplus.

One of the things that I really want to emphasize is that the board decision is not intended to remove CFUW from membership in GWI. We will continue as an NFA. The decision made by the board is an operational decision based on our fiduciary responsibility to CFUW.  Through the decision, the board is providing a method of resolving the conflict and hoping to heal the schism that has so divided our organization for the past few years.

Inevitably, 2021-2022 will be a transition period. I trust that during this time we will all respect the decisions that are made by individual members and by clubs and acknowledge that we might not all agree but we can agree that we will continue to work together to further CFUW’s mission. I encourage you to read the attached documents, share with your network, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact National Office, the board, or a member of the Dialogue Team.
